The Bologna Process (1999) is known as a high-level cooperation among national ministries which aims to ensure comparability and quality assurance in tertiary education. It established the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) but it also has an ambitious agenda to support and integrate a diverse student body, labelled as the social dimension of higher education (HE).
